On April 18th, 2013, at precisely 7pm, the Galerie der Stadt Schwaz will open the exhibition "Frau Prüde zu Dr. Loch und Frau Sxxxx zu Dr. Ernst" by the British artist Josephine Pryde. Pryde's photographs have been described as dealing with the production of affects. In Schwaz, she will combine works from the last three long decades, including works not yet shown from the series called 'This Time Last Year' (2012), as well as a sculpture from 1990, and further previously unexhibited framed photographic prints.

When bodies tumble from the Venice skies, they seem to plunge ecstatically into infinity. Until they dissolve into point clouds shimmering in the light of the projection. Rens Veltman mistrusts the promises with which the digital revolution forges ahead. He neither succumbs to the dizziness that makes us stagger nor to the shenanigans aimed at convincing us to believe that we are witnessing the conquest of a new world. For the exhibition presented in the gallery of the city of Schwaz, Rens Veltman decided to let machines operate, which, fed with specific algorithms, produce drawings. The machines are robots constructed and programmed by Veltman himself. According to the robots’ program, the lines mark the shortest possible routes between the various points at the given coordinates. Painting by numbers, Veltman’s robots resemble travelling salesmen striving to optimize their itineraries between stops.

On Signs from Nicole Bianchet
On this Saturday our opening hours are from 18.00 to 01.00 o'clock. The ongoing exhibition is called "Wünschelwas" from Nicole Bianchet. There will be guided tours on the hour. Further we play music from the artist - vocals with guitare.
Bianchet’s abstract painting draws references to art of the 1960s. Her questioning of tachism and the introduction of this abstract form to painting leads to horizontal formats or pre-Raphael tondis. Her technique of partially removing acrylic paint from the surface reveals the wooden board beneath, creating ornamental or crater-like forms that recall abstract, almost romantic landscape shapes.
In cooperation with Galerie Michael Haas in Berlin.

Cosima Rainer is appointed as new artistic director for Stadtgalerie Schwaz starting from summer 2010. She will be supported by her new assistent Bianca Moser. The program 2010 is previewed by Karin Pernegger, former director and now curator at Kunsthalle Krems. Further informations will be published soon.
in cooperation with Kunsthalle Krems
Mahony´s working method is mainly influenced by the idea of a processual character of artwork and marked by collective development of work. The project Odyssey 500 itself is an artistic analysis of the cultural history of global travel, which examines the emotional connotations of the travel theme in historic derivation, constructed narratives and established myths in its reference to problems affecting real societies nowadays. In this sense it is an attempt of a contemporary artistic inquiery of phenomena such as movement, definitions of space, situatedness, allocation, translation, transport, time (etc.).
The artist group Mahony was founded in 2002 by Stephan Kobatsch, Jenny Wolka, Andreas Duscha and Clemens Leuschner. All four currently live and work in Vienna.
